In a water rinse a halved yellow peas which is good as we don’t have to soak before making it. Place this rinsed peas into a pot with 2l of water so it is all submerged and cook for about an hour. Salt it 15 mins. before the end.
Peeled and chopped onion fry on the pan with oil. Mix strained peas with a blender and keep the water from the cooking on a side. There will develope a thick puree out of the mixed peas. For that we wil use the leftover water and dilute the puree with it as needed.
As a last thing we add in the fried onions, cream, salt and pepper. Mix well and it is ready.
We serve peas puree with bread and pickles. We can also add baked kielbasa or boiled vienna sausages.
